Every provider in a state, with every plan that lists them.
A data file is one CSV for one state. It has one row for each provider and plan pair: every provider practising in the state, with every marketplace (ACA) plan and Medicare Advantage plan that lists them.

What is in a file.
Every provider who practises in the state and appears in at least one plan listing, with every plan that lists them. A provider listed by 150 plans has 150 rows, one for each plan. Each row says where the listing comes from and the date we read it.
The Delaware state file, built on 2026-10-30. Other states differ in size.
The 24 columns.
Provider columns come first and repeat on each of a provider's rows. Plan columns follow. An empty cell means the listing does not give that value.

InPlan data file: one state, CSV (UTF-8, header row), gzipped.
One row = one provider x one plan that lists that provider.
- npi identifies the provider; provider columns repeat on each row.
- market: ACA = marketplace plan, MA = Medicare Advantage plan.
- plan_id + plan_year identify the plan. Use them with the
InPlan API (GET /v1/plans/{plan_id}) for plan details.
- plan_states: states the plan is sold in, space-separated.
- accepting_new_patients: yes | no | empty (not stated).
- source_type: insurer_directory | plan_directory.
- as_of: the date we read the listing (YYYY-MM-DD).
Rows are sorted by npi, then market, then plan_year (newest
first), then plan_id.

Questions about files.
How fast do we get the file?
A state file arrives the same business day, usually within the hour. We email a download link as soon as it is ready, and the file also appears on the Billing page of your dashboard. The national file arrives within one business day.
What format is it?
One CSV file with a header row, UTF-8, compressed with gzip (.csv.gz). Most databases and data tools read it directly. Unzip it with any archive tool, or load it compressed.
Can we open it in a spreadsheet?
The free sample, yes. A full state file is usually larger than a spreadsheet holds: the Delaware file has 1,338,913 rows. Load full files into a database or a data tool, or filter them before you open them.
How current is the data?
Each row carries as_of, the date we read that listing. We build your file from our latest data on the day you order it.
Can we get a new copy every month?
Yes. A refresh is $199 a month and sends a new copy of your file each month. Write to [email protected] to add it after your first file.
Who can download the file?
The download link works for signed-in members of the InPlan workspace that bought it. Add teammates from the Team page of your dashboard.
